Twitter Won’t Remove Rep. MTG’s Tweets Mocking Rachel Levine

(Chris ParkerHeadline USA) Twitter seems to be reversing course on its censorship of conservatives.

The social media giant refused to remove a Tweet by Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-GA, that mocked transgender HHS Assistant Secretary Rachel Levine despite several complaints, reports ABC27 News.

Twitter is including a warning message above the Tweet but also “determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.” The Tweet references Levine by his birth name and pledges to protect children from his gender dysphoria agenda. Twitter has also disabled “likes” for Greene’s Tweet, but it can still be quoted.

Greene’s personal Twitter account was suspended in January for spreading largely suppressed information about COVID-19. However, her congressional account remains active despite repeated claims of violations.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton faced similar restrictions in March. One of his Tweets also identified Levine as a male. “Levin is a man,” he said blatantly in response to Levine being named one of USA Today’s women of the year.

Many conservative politicians and pundits have had their Twitter accounts permanently suspended for sharing their points of view, sometimes over a single Tweet. President Donald Trump is probably the best-known case. His account remains suspended.

Conservative blogger Robert Stacy McCain was also suspended by Twitter in 2016. Several uses defended his right to free speech and condemned Twitter for its censorship. Stacy was never given a reason for his suspension.

However, many Tweets sympathetic to left-leaning policies and issues have been permitted without so much as a warning, including those celebrating attacks against Israel. They also permitted a Tweet by Lebron James in which he threatened to incite violence against a police officer. Twitter maintains its claim that it’s objective in policy enforcement.

However, Twitter has since promised to be more transparent in its censorship of conservative users. The recent reduced actions against prominent conservatives seem to support that promise.
