(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) Republicans are planning a response to what they’re calling the J6 Committee’s “partisan witch hunt,” which will become prime-time television on Thursday, June 8, replete with theatrics choreographed by a former TV executive as producer.
The effort is being led by Republican House Reps. Elise Stefanik of New York, Jim Banks of Indiana, and Jim Jordan of Ohio, according to a report in the Daily Wire.
The three members participated in a call with reporters on Tuesday in which they attacked the Democrats (and RINOs like Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger) for planning a blatantly political and expensively stage-managed stunt.
“House Democrats have no agenda for Americans and no real solutions to the problems that we face on a daily basis,” Stefanik told reporters.
“Instead, Democrats are scrambling to change the headlines, hoping that the nation will focus on the partisan witch hunt that you will see this week instead of our pocketbooks.”
Jordan agreed, and pointed to the Committee’s hiring of former ABC News executive James Goldston as evidence that the Democrats are only interested in political theater.
“They went out and hired the former president of ABC News to choreograph a documentary,” Jordan said. “And then, of course, their very first witness is a documentarian.”
Jordan also pointed out that, with skyrocketing inflation and gas prices, Democrats have nothing to talk about besides the events of Jan. 6, 2021.
“There’s nothing else that’s going well,” Jordan said. “There’s reason 75% of the country thinks America is on the wrong track . . . the country has figured it out.”
In response to the Committee’s plan, Fox News will air both Tucker Carlson’s and Sean Hannity’s shows at the same time as the hearing, the Daily Wire reported.
According to the New York Times, Fox has said that it would cover the hearings “as news warrants.”
