(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) RINO Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming was accused of attempting to extort campaign cash from one of the so-called witnesses currently under threat of prosecution by the partisan Jan. 6 Committee, The Federalist reported.
On Thursday, the committee hopes to produce the first in a series of six publicly funded prime-time TV commercials as it attempts a Democrat reboot before the upcoming midterm election.
Cheney—one of only two non-Democrats on the panel hand-selected by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and the only one running for re-election—has the most to lose, politically, from the sideshow hearings.
Nonetheless, she appears to have doubled down on her decision to betray former GOP colleagues by lending “bipartisan” credence to the phony leftist talking points about “sedition” and “insurrection” stemming from the mostly peaceful protest.
Megan Small, a director of operations for former President Donald Trump who has been subpoenaed by the J6 Committee, posted on Twitter a letter in the mail from the Cheney campaign asking for money.

“Hey @Liz_Cheney, is it standard operating procedure on the Jan. 6 committee to ask subpoenaed witnesses for campaign contributions?” Small wrote.
Small called the solicitation “unsavory at best,” remarking on Cheney’s boldness as the embattled congressperson begs for money.
While Trump adviser Peter Navarro last week was carted off in shackles for his refusal to comply with the illigitimate inquisition, it was unclear whether other witnesses had been offered quid-pro-quo deals similar to Small’s.
“[Cheney] has threatened to make criminal referrals to DOJ of those witnesses,” Small said. “So arguably the campaign contributions is being solicited not just from a witness, but from someone who may or may not be, at her discretion, referred to DOJ for criminal prosecution.”
Why Cheney is asking Floridians for money is another question. The Wyoming congressperson has nearly $7 million in cash on hand as the primaries approach, according to the Federal Election Commission.
Moreover, much of her funding has come from the sources that she shares with the establishment hacks at the anti-Trump Lincoln Project.
In opposition to Cheney is the Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman, who has just over $1 million as the election approaches.
