(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Not content with a Ministry of Truth to monitor, suppress and censor public speech, and in addition to weaponizing federal agents to spy on parents as domestic terrorists and tracking cell phones for compliance with government mandates, the Biden administration on Thursday unveiled its new Office of Environmental Justice.
Chief of Green Police Patrol, Merrick Garland, said the latest expansion of the Biden regime’s reach is “consistent with the president’s executive order tackling the climate crisis at home and abroad.”
To that end, Garland said his Justice Department’s new Office of Environmental Justice is “issuing a comprehensive environmental justice enforcement strategy.”
A prime focus of the new office will be to help redistribute wealth to areas and communities that leftist politicians think have been targeted by systemic racism.
“Although violations of our environmental laws can happen anywhere, communities of color, indigenous communities, and low-income communities often bear the brunt of the harm caused by environmental crime, pollution, and climate change,” Garland said.
“For far too long, these communities have faced barriers to accessing the justice they deserve.”

The new office will coordinate environmental justice investigations, enforcement and litigation, including civil and criminal litigation, with the potential for steep fines to funnel back into prioritized cases that “will reduce public health and environmental harms to overburdened and underserved communities.”
“These include remedies that provide effective relief for the impacted community and individual victims, remedies that will penalize and deter violations (including civil and criminal fines and penalties, and incarceration),” a DOJ memorandum informed.
The new OEJ will work with U.S. attorneys across the country to develop public snitch squads, with instructions from Merrick “to identify areas of environmental justice concern in communities within its district” and “establish and publicize a procedure for members of the public to report environmental justice concerns within that office’s jurisdiction.”
As part of the office’s enforcement arm, the U.S. attorneys are being directed to marshal “environmental enforcement task forces” that can be used for investigations and compliance issues.

The new office “will prioritize meaningful and constructive engagement with the communities most affected by environmental crime and injustice,″ Garland said.
“Whenever possible, these efforts will respond directly to community needs and concerns.″
