Okla. State University’s Drag Queen Story Hour Targets Toddlers

(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) Groomers at Oklahoma State University hosted a “drag queen story hour” for children as young as two during its April “LGBTQ+ Pride Month” celebrations, according to a report at Campus Reform.

“Join us Saturday, April 9 at the OSU Museum of Art to hear artists Ami Rhetto & Olivia Lycan read books highlighting inclusion & acceptance,” the event’s organizers wrote.

According to a flyer advertising the event, the “stories” were “geared toward ages 2-10, but all are welcome!”

“Universities across America have also been hosting a number of drag shows on campus, including the University of Arkansas which paid $10,000 to host a Zoom drag show and Arizona State University which paid $5,000 to have RuPaul’s Drag Race star Kandy Muse to perform,” Campus Reform reported.

Everybody — even octogenarian House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — is doing it!

Oklahoma State “removed the age recommendation from the flyer” after being approached by a Fox News reporter, according to KOKH.

“I’m not a fan of young kids being exposed to that kind of lifestyle,” OSU Student Brian Chilcoat told KOKH. “It’s a little too young in my opinion.”

The University offered an anodyne statement in response.

“While this event was open to the public and participation was voluntary, we are looking into its alignment with our institutional mission,” a spokesman told FOX 25.

“We support employee and student-sponsored events that recognize and honor the achievements of the many distinctive groups comprising the OSU community.”

Jay Richards of The Heritage Foundation called story hour “ideological grooming” in an email to the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs.

“It’s deeply disturbing that gender activists are now trying to catechize even preschools with gender ideology,” Richards said.

“People object to the label grooming. But what exactly is it when young children are exposed, in an educational environment, to drag queens—who are, by definition, hypersexualized caricatures of women?

“And what should we call picture books designed to teach kids that they might have a ‘gender identity’ distinct from their biological sex?” he continued. “I can think of no better word for these activities than ideological grooming.”
