Biden Admin’s Personal Attacks on Texas, Fla. Help Elevate 2024 Rivals

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) As the White House continues to clash with Republicans and key red states, critics have stated that this will bring major right-leaning figures to the foreground, the Washington Examiner reported.

The back-and-forth is “mutually beneficial,” in part because many Democrats are “demoralized and depressed,” according to Republican strategist Doug Heye.

But, because of the continual failures of the Biden administration, strategists such as Heye believe the Republicans could rally some Democrats to the cause.

“So how do you rally the Democratic base? You do so with Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis and Ted Cruz and everyone else down that line,” he said. “It helps you raise money, and it helps identify a political opponent in a way that can help rally the base.”

Heye argued that through pre-election season and the primaries, Republicans will be able to argue that the sitting administration is scared of the change potential contenders could affect.

“That is a very persuasive message in the Republican primaries,” he said.

A source in Biden’s orbit stated that the White House did not base its communications strategy on 2024 considerations, but that any possible Republican presidential candidates have large platforms.

White House decisions are made based on whether or not a possible contender with a large platform has done something which warrants a response, the source concluded.

But, DeSantis has been constantly mentioned in press briefings and Q&A sessions since the official start of the Biden administration.

Same with Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, who has been frequently mentioned recently due to his dealing with the border crisis.

Sens. Cruz, R-Texas, and Josh Hawley, R-Mo., have also received repeat mentions.

Heye described a “battle royale,” and expressed the belief that the culture wars will be beneficial for both Democrats and Republicans—particularly any action regarding school curricula and teachers.

“A lot of it is what comes around goes around, and we’re only seeing that increase,” he said.
