(Headline USA) Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott warned the Biden administration this week that he is not done shipping illegal immigrants detained at the southern border to Washington, D.C., and said he is considering sending them to Delaware next.
“This busing process is going to continue,” Abbott told Fox News this week, noting that the seventh bus carrying migrants from Texas is en route to the nation’s capital.
“The Biden administration, they were dropping off illegal immigrants just [into] small towns on the border. And I said, we’re not going to allow that to happen,” Abbott said.
“The people in local communities were overrun by the people they had dumped off in these local communities and they were grappling with how to deal with it, and I said, well, we’re just going to bus them to Washington, D.C.”
Until the Biden administration decides to get serious about the border crisis, Texas will keep shipping migrants to Biden’s front door, he said.
“We’re going to load them up and send them into Washington, D.C. If we run out of room there, Delaware looks like a great location,” he added.
Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis has also threatened to ship illegal immigrants detained in his state to Delaware, which is Biden’s home state and the place where he spends much of his time.
“If Biden is dumping people, which he has dumped people, they fly them in at two in the morning,” DeSantis said.
“They haven’t done it lately, but they did it many months ago. We now have money where we can reroute them to sanctuary states like Delaware — and we’re gonna do that — to make sure we’re keeping people safe here,” DeSantis vowed.
Texas has already sent six buses full of migrants to Washington, D.C., dropping them off just blocks away from the U.S. Capitol building.
