(Headline USA) Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., claimed this week that Alabama Republican Gov. Kay Ivey pushed “racist ignorance” about minority communities by speaking out against illegal immigration.
Ivey released a new campaign advertisement last week blasting President Joe Biden for his immigration policies and touting her work to ban “sanctuary cities.”
“The left can try to cancel me,” she said in the ad. “Here in Alabama, we’re going to enforce the law.”
Ivey also warned in the clip that if Biden “keeps shipping illegal immigrants into our states, we’re all going to have to learn Spanish.”

Asked about the advertisement during an interview, Waters claimed Ivey was pushing “plain racist ignorance in your face.”
“It is absolutely shameful that in this day and age that we have people who think like that, who speak like that, and who have access to the resources to purchase the kind of ad to just literally spill that kind of mess across our screens,” she claimed.

Ivey shot back at Waters, saying there was “nothing racist with telling the truth about the disaster Joe Biden is causing with illegals invading our country.”
“I’m not going to be lectured by a liberal Congresswoman from California,” Ivey said.
There’s nothing racist with telling the truth about the disaster Joe Biden is causing with illegals invading our country. I’m not going to be lectured by a liberal Congresswoman from California. We’ll handle our business in Alabama. https://t.co/iiU5H0V7wp
