(Alex Tien, Headline USA) It was an interesting night at the Oscars on Sunday, but the award for best take-down of ridiculous leftist talking points goes to Christina Pushaw, spokesperson for Florida Gov. Ron Desantis.
Because the Oscars must be filled with rank socialist political discourse, Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer and Regina Hill thought themselves hilariously righteous when they tried to take a swipe at Florida’s recently approved Parental Rights in Education bill.

Not only was the alleged joke incredibly lame, it was also incredibly ignorant. A simple reading of the legislation would have revealed that it doesn’t once even mention the word “gay,” much less prohibit anyone from saying it.
Wanda Sykes didn’t read Florida’s bill. It literally doesn’t say that.

Designed to keep parents informed about what their children are learning in classrooms, especially when it comes to sex education for kids as young as pre-school aged, the bill prohibits instruction about sexuality or gender between kindergarten and third grade “or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”
However, many liberals (along with many Hollywood stars) seem to think that the bill simply bans saying the word “gay” in Florida schools. Recently, fans of a women’s professional soccer team in Orlando tried to hoist a banner at a home match that only had one word on it; “gay.” Team officials ordered for the banner to be removed, but later apologized for it.
Back at the Oscars, the woke triumvirate of Sykes, Schumer and Hall also took a shot at what they considered the rampant toxic masculinity that is apparently harming the lives of countless women and children. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell‘s name was mentioned in connection to the aforementioned troubling masculinity.
That barb made about as much sense as the trio’s glib nescience of the Florida legislation they mischaracterized, and it didn’t go unnoticed in comparison to the “toxic masculinity” that Will Smith unleashed on Chris Rock.
Sykes took aim at US Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, accusing him of ‘toxic masculinity, however, she had not spoken about Will Smith’s “toxic masculinity”.
