NY Times Hit Piece Slyly Omits Its Own ‘Disinformation’

'This is completely nonsensical, what does this have to do with your initial question... /

(Headline USA) The New York Times deceptively excluded its own reporting on Ukrainian corruption in a hit-piece this week targeting conservative commentators who have been critical of the U.S.’s response to the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

Conservative pundit Candace Owens exposed the Times earlier this week when she shared an inquiry from reporters asking her for comment on why she advanced “ideas that Ukraine is a corrupt country,” suggesting she was spreading Russian disinformation.

In response, Owens cited several Times articles detailing Ukrainian corruption.

In the article published this week, however, the Times declined to admit that its own reporting served as Owens’s source.

“By reinforcing and feeding each other’s messaging, some right-wing Americans have given credibility to Russia’s assertions and vice versa,” the article claimed.

“Together, they have created an alternate reality, recasting the Western block of allies as provokers, blunderers, and liars, which has bolstered Mr. Putin.”

In fact, the Times did not include a single word of Owens’s response, focusing instead on a tweet in which she encouraged her followers to read one of Putin’s speeches to understand why he invaded Ukraine.

Owens told Fox News’s Tucker Carlson that the only response she got from Times writers was a different question about whether she accepted the government’s “narrative” regarding Ukraine’s bio-labs.

“I said, ‘This is completely nonsensical, what does this have to do with your initial question,'” Owens said.
