Watchdog Sues CIA for Records of Contact w/ Indicted Clinton Lawyer

'The CIA is in cover-up mode about its communications with the lawyer implicated in a shady spy operation against President Trump... '

(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) Judicial Watch has filed a lawsuit seeking information regarding Central Intelligence Agency contacts with former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann, who has been indicted by Special Counsel John Durham for his role in the Russia hoax.

Sussmann claimed that he was not working “for any client” during the September 2016 meeting with FBI General Counsel James Baker in which he claimed to have discovered a “secret channel of communication” between the Trump Organization and a Russian private bank, Alfa-Bank.

Durham determined that Sussmann “lied about the capacity in which he was providing the allegations to the FBI” because the lawyer was actually working on behalf of both the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign and tech executive Rodney Joffe, who is alleged to have conducted opposition research on Trump using “non-public data.”

As Fox News reported on Feb. 15, Durham revealed in a Feb. 11 filing that Sussmann in 2017 had provided a similar set of allegations “to a second agency of the U.S. government.”

A spokesman for Joffe told Fox that this second agency was the CIA.

“Upon identifying DNS queries from Russian-made Yota phones in proximity to the Trump campaign and the EOP, respected cyber-security researchers were deeply concerned about the anomalies they found in the data and prepared a report of their findings, which was subsequently shared with the CIA,” Joffe’s spokesman said.

Judicial Watch is seeking “all records regarding any meetings or telephonic conversations between any official or employee of the Central Intelligence Agency and Mr. Michael Sussmann (formerly an attorney with Perkins Cole) between January 1, 2015, and the present.”

“The CIA is in cover-up mode about its communications with the lawyer implicated in a shady spy operation against President Trump,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton in a statement. “What is the CIA hiding about its role in this plot against President Trump?”
