Va. Dad Who Slammed Loudoun School Board Announces Congressional Run

'The garbage workers who pick up my freaking trash risk their lives every day more than anyone in this school system. Figure it out...'

(Headline USA) A Virginia father whose speech before the Loudoun County school board last year went viral announced he is running for Congress on Wednesday.

“We’re going to let parents have their voice back,” Brandon Michon, who will be running to represent Virginia’s 10th Congressional District, told Fox News’s Tucker Carlson.

“I’m so happy to be jumping in this race, so happy to represent so many people who may not have the same opportunity or be in a position to speak up,” he added. “We just want to raise the bar.”

Michon, a father of two children, became a viral sensation in January 2021 after he railed against the Loudoun County school board for shutting down schools.

He told the school board members that they “should all be fired from their day jobs” because they were “more inefficient than the DMV.”

“You think you’re some sort of martyrs because of the decisions you’re making when the statistics do not lie that the vast majority of the population is not at risk from this virus,” Michon said during his speech.

“The garbage workers who pick up my freaking trash risk their lives every day more than anyone in this school system. Figure it out,” he continued. “It’s not a high bar.”

Michon told Fox News he’s making “Let’s go Brandon,” a popular phrase that means “F*** Joe Biden,” a signature part of his campaign because it accurately represents how many people in Virginia and across the country feel about this administration.
