Multiple Migrant Caravans Making Their Way Toward Texas

'Tell Biden we are coming...'

Four migrant caravans are working their way through Mexico towards the U.S. southern border despite attempts by the Mexican government to block them, according to the Washington Examiner.

Mexican officials have set up multiple blockades in the southern part of the country, which have slowed the caravans. But the migrants, who are coming from South America, the Caribbean, and Central America, intend to keep pushing further north.

Just this week, a caravan full of thousands of migrants from Central America and the Caribbean reached the southern Mexican town of Huehuetan, according to Reuters.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, said Texas is prepared to face the caravans if they do arrive.

In October, one of the migrant caravans making its way through Mexico was seen carrying signs with President Joe Biden’s name.

“Tell Biden we are coming,” one migrant named William, who said he was from El Salvador, said.

Another migrant said: “President Biden, we need your help.”

The leader of the caravan, Irineo Mujica, demanded that Biden let them enter the country and blasted the administration for trying to keep migrants in their home countries by offering those countries aid.

“Money is not going to solve the problem,” he said. “They should give them papers here, they should give them the opportunity to work here.”
