Florida Teacher Denied Ivermectin Dies From COVID-19

'They will not study Ivermectin. They will not study hydroxychloroquine without the taint of their hatred for Donald Trump...'

A Florida teacher who was hospitalized with COVID-19 died from the virus following the hospital’s refusal to treat her with Ivermectin.

Tamara Drock, 47, had been hospitalized in Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center for 12 weeks with COVID-19 and requested to be treated with the anti-parasitic drug Ivermectin, which has been used to treat other COVID-19 patients across the country.

However, the hospital refused to prescribe the drug, so Drock’s husband, Ryan Drock, sued in October.

Ryan Drock’s lawsuit was rejected by Palm Beach County Circuit Judge James Nutt in October. Nutt said that he would be setting a dangerous precedent if he were to override a doctor’s recommendation, and encouraged the Drocks to instead negotiate a deal on their own with doctors at the hospital.

A doctor at the hospital did eventually agree to administer Ivermectin to Tamara Drock, but the family’s attorney argued it was too low of a dase too late into her illness.

“I’m hoping they name a law after her so no one has to go through this. If she had walked out of the hospital she could have had the medication,” Ryan Drock said.

The medical establishment has dismissed Ivermectin as an ineffective and potentially dangerous treatment for COVID-19. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, for example, has not approved the drug to treat COVID-19, saying it hasn’t proved effective in pre-clinical trials.

But several conservatives have pointed out that there is no real scientific argument to justify not studying and using the drug.

“The hatred for Trump deranged these people so much, that they’re unwilling to objectively study it,” Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said back in September. “They will not study Ivermectin. They will not study hydroxychloroquine without the taint of their hatred for Donald Trump.”
