Inmates Sing Nat’l Anthem as MTG Visits Jan. 6 Gulag Dubbed ‘Patriot Wing’

'They came out cheering and crying as soon as they saw me. They were so thankful; it's like they were prisoners of war...'

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was granted permission to visit 120 alleged J6 rioters and watched as they sang the national anthem, the Washington Examiner reported.

Greene issued a statement explaining that the D.C. Department of Corrections allowed her access due to some complaints issued by inmates.

Greene posted a thread elaborating on her experience, dubbing the wing where the J6 prisoners were being kept as the “Patriot Wing.”

Green appeared on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast to discuss her visit to the prison.

“The men we saw last night, when we walked in that room—I almost don’t have words, it’s hard to describe it—we walked in that room and I was greeted by men who thought they were never going to see anybody come for them,” Greene explained.

“They came out cheering and crying as soon as they saw me,” she said. “They were so thankful; it’s like they were prisoners of war.”

She also said her staff would soon be releasing a full report on her tour of the prison.

News of her visit was met with mixed reviews online:
