Pence’s Brother Claims Pelosi Wanted to Flee After US Capitol Siege

'Hanging Judge Nancy Pelosi is hellbent on pushing her version of partisan justice...'

Indiana Republican Rep. Greg Pence, brother of former Vice President Mike Pence, claimed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) wanted to leave the U.S. Capitol after the Jan. 6 riot.

“Nancy Pelosi said we can’t come back for two or three days,” Pence said. “He said as soon as the Capitol Police ― the heroes ― clear the building, I’m gaveling back in,” according to HuffPost on Thursday.

Pelosi took offense at the congressman’s remarks.

“He completely does not know what he’s talking about,” Pelosi said when told about Pence’s remarks by a reporter from The Hill. “I was a force for coming back from the start, and I was glad it was bipartisan that we all agreed to come back.”

She added, “But he knows not of what he speaks, and he can ask his brother if he wants to get any information.”

Despite Pelosi’s comebacks, Greg Pence was at the U.S. Capitol with his brother during the riot.

He was in a position to know what took place, despite the Speaker’s claims otherwise.

When the House returned later that day, Rep. Pence was among 138 Republicans who voted to object to the election results in Pennsylvania.

The feud took place as the House approved a measure this week to form a 9/11-like commission to investigate the events of Jan. 6.

Nearly three dozen GOP House members voted in support.

Pence sided with most Republicans to oppose the measure.

“Hanging Judge Nancy Pelosi is hellbent on pushing her version of partisan justice complete with a hand-picked jury that will carry out her pre-determined political execution of Donald Trump before law enforcement officials have completed their investigation,” Greg Pence said in a statement reported by The Hill.

The legislation now moves to the Senate, where it is unlikely to pass.

A 60-vote supermajority is required for success in the 50-50 split Senate.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said on Wednesday he will oppose the proposed measure approved by the House.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) called the bipartisan proposal “slanted and unbalanced.”
