The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has redirected more than $2 billion from American healthcare to care for illegal immigrants, Politico reported.
Congress had recently allocated $850 million to replenish the nation’s Strategic National Stockpile, an emergency reserve of medical supplies.
President Joe Biden unilaterally decided to redirect those funds to providing healthcare to illegal immigrants across the country.
Biden’s HHS also pulled $850 million from national COVID testing and another $436 million from other health initiatives.
Moreover, according to a New York Times report, the HHS plans to spend an additional $9 billion by October of this year to continue bringing in the children of illegal immigrants.
Since Biden took over in late January, the feds have accepted over 50,000 immigrant children into the country while rejecting Trump’s policy of sending them home.
“They’ve been in a situation of needing to very rapidly expand capacity, and emergency capacity is much more expensive,” argued Mark Greenberg, a senior fellow at the Migration Policy Institute. “You can’t just say there’s going to be a waiting list or we’re going to shut off intake. There’s literally not a choice.”
The HHS has taken additional steps to provide better long-term housing for the law breaking immigrants.
According to Alejandro N. Mayorkas, the homeland security secretary, “[w]e have re-engineered the process for the treatment of unaccompanied children — the transfer of them to Health and Human Services shelters where they belong.”
“A Border Patrol station is no place for a child,” he added.
Mayorkas, an immigrant himself, has a long history of pushing open-border policies, arguing that America is a nation of immigrants rather than Americans.
The Biden administration’s diversion of cash to illegals comes amid tax hikes, an increased cost of living, decaying infrastructure, and plans to raise taxes even more in the coming months.
Despite millions of Americans struggling, especially after unconstitutional and unprecedented lockdowns, Biden continues to redirect millions of tax dollars to helping foreigners and lawbreakers.
