Tlaib Calls for Complete End to Policing, Incarceration After Daunte Wright Shooting

'I am done with those who condone government funded murder...'

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., called for an end to all policing in the wake of Daunte Wright shooting in Minnesota.

On Sunday, a police officer in the town of Brooklyn Center reportedly shot and killed Wright, a 20-year-old black man, after Wright resisted arrest.

As was the case following the George Floyd death last year in nearby Minneapolis, the tragedy was compounded by looting and race riots, which had the potential to cascade into another nationwide protest.

The timing was especially precarious as social-justice activists already were gathered in the Gopher State to demonstrate during the trial of Derek Chauvin, the officer accused of killing Floyd while he employed a controversial neck restraint.

Tlaib, a member of the far-left “Squad” who has already endorsed defunding the police, slammed law enforcement  on Monday as “inherently and intentionally racist”

The radical proposal is sure to backfire, as the “Defund the Police” movement did during the 2020 election.

Republican strategist Frank Luntz noted that Tlaib’s radical comments would likely be used against her when she’s up for reelection:

Tlaib was one of the foremost advocates of “Defund the Police,” announcing her support for legislation that would divest federal money from federal law enforcement entities, detention centers, and state prisons, among a host of other things.

Republicans slammed Tlaib for comparing law enforcement officers to murderers:
