Holder Accuses Texas GOP of Trying to ‘Cripple’ Voters

'What the hell does that have to do with election integrity?'

Disgraced former attorney general Eric Holder claimed GOP-led states like Texas were trying to “cripple” voters by using the legislative process to close vote-fraud loopholes after last year’s election debacle.

It was not immediately clear whether the remark to the Dallas Morning News was intended as an ableist slur against Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who is wheelchair-bound.

Either way, the Obama “wing man” undeniably ratcheted up the rhetoric while rallying activists to follow Georgia‘s lead in boycotting corporations that declined to speak out against recent election-integrity efforts.

“What the hell does that have to do with election integrity?” he asked.

“They’ve come up with diabolical ways in which they’re trying to cripple people from getting to the polls and get there in a really easy way,” added Holder, who notoriously refused to prosecute billy-club-wielding Black Panthers for voter intimidation during his time at the Justice Department.

In fact, Holder, himself, has a well-documented history of spouting inflammatory political invective that endorsed acts of violence.

“When they go low, we kick them,” he said during an October 2018 campaign stop in Georgia. “That’s what this new Democratic Party is about.”

Holder, now head of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, has also been a lead architect in Democrats’ “sue till blue” strategy of leveraging lawsuits to position themselves favorably in elections.

Yet, he accused GOP leaders of a “multi-pronged war on democracy” for opposing the judicial activism and executive overreach that resulted in hundreds of witness affidavits alleging widespread polling-place irregularities during the 2020 election.

During a press conference Tuesday, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick pushed back against the left-wing smear campaign to leave his state’s pending reform bill dead on arrival, The Texan reported.

“You have a right to your opinion, but read the damn bill,” said Patrick after Texas-based American Airlines jumped into the fray by criticizing the legislation.

Delta Airlines, Coca-Cola and Major League Baseball were among those that inserted themselves into the Georgia protest last week.

However, many speculate that their baseless intervention over a reasonable attempt to rein in elections could backfire on the virtue-signaling companies.

President Donald Trump has signaled that his supporters should undertake boycotts of their own against the companies.

Meanwhile, Democrats—hoping for an unprecedented power-grab through their federal election overhaul, S/HR1—have trotted out the ubiquitous rallying cry of “racism” to help mobilize the attack on red states.

Their talking points predictably denounced the measures as modern-day Jim Crow laws, a reference to the racist policies that Southern Democrats used to deter voting among poor and illiterate citizens prior to the passage of Republican-backed civil-rights legislation.

But Republicans in Georgia and Texas said the claims were simply part of a strategy to spread disinformation about the actual substance of their reforms.

“The bottom line is, we must stop this race-baiting on every issue,” Patrick said.

Ironically, while suggesting that a vast right-wing, white-supremacist conspiracy was afoot to commit voter suppression, Holder accused Republicans of being overly paranoid for wanting to safeguard the sanctity of the ballot-box.

“They cling to this myth of election integrity and voter fraud, but there’s really no proof,” he claimed, despite ample evidence to the contrary.
