Biden Reinstates Obama Program to Fly Central Americans Directly to US

'What the Biden administration meant by 'wait, don’t come now", is really, 'don't come this way...'

President Joe Biden has directed Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to reinstate an Obama-era program that will prepare the nation to accept millions of illegal aliens, according to a report by the Center for Immigration Studies.

The Central American Minors Refugee/Parole program (CAM) will set aside resources to fly illegal aliens directly from Central America into the United States, relieving them of the burden of a long, dangerous journey.

“What the Biden administration meant by ‘wait, don’t come now”, is really, ‘don’t come this way, we are designing legal pathways that will allow us to fly you here directly,'” CIS Senior Researcher Dr. Nayla Rush said.

Former President Donald Trump ended CAM in 2017, but Biden plans to rebuild and expand it.

CAM aims to convince prospective migrants to wait in Central America until the Democrat administration can circumvent existing immigration laws and invite them into the country under a legal guise.

Whereas Obama’s 2014 CAM program waited for Central Americans to show interest in emigrating to the United States, Biden’s revamped version of CAM will proactively seek foreigners to bring into the nation.

The proposal accomplishes two Democrat goals: importing more illegal aliens who will vote for the Democratic Party, and mitigating the crisis at the Southern border that shows the inhumanity of open-borders policies.

“Biden is making the same bet as Obama, using in-country processing programs to try and discourage migrants from showing up at the border,” Rush said. “This will prove to be wrong once again. Only tough border measures, like ones set up by Trump, can discourage migrants from risky and illegal border crossings.”

In an interview with George Stephanopoulos of ABC News, Biden sounded moderate regarding immigration policy when he warned migrants not to travel to the United States.

“I can say quite clearly don’t come over,” he said. “And the process of getting set up, and it’s not gonna take a whole long time, is to be able to apply for asylum in place. So don’t leave your town or city or community.”

But then Biden revealed his intention to provide care for Central Americans at American taxpayers’ expense, to process them in their home nations, and then bring them directly to the United States.

“We’re gonna make sure we have facilities in those [Central American] cities and towns run by department of — by DHS and also access with HHS, the Health and Human Services, to say you can apply for asylum from where you are right now,” he said.

Mayorkas also told prospective illegal aliens not to migrate to the United States but to wait until the Biden administration can establish procedures to let them in.

“We are not saying don’t come,” he said. “We are saying don’t come now, because we will be able to provide a safe and orderly process to them.”

Obama implemented CAM in hopes of slowing the tide of illegal immigration at the Southern border, but illegal immigration “at the border did not decrease in response to Obama’s CAM,” CIS reported.
