Making good on an earlier pledge, freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene filed articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden, calling him “unfit to hold the office of the Presidency.”
Greene referenced Biden’s role in his son Hunter‘s corrupt business dealings in foreign countries like China and Ukraine during the Obama administration.
“His pattern of abuse of power as President Obama’s Vice President is lengthy and disturbing,” she said in a press release. “President Biden has demonstrated that he will do whatever it takes to bail out his son, Hunter, and line his family’s pockets with cash from corrupt foreign energy companies.”
Democrats desperately sought to cover for the Bidens, despite the mounting evidence that revealed their unethical bartering in exchange for access to power and US policy-making.
Notably, many mainstream media outlets scrambled to suppress the damning information that came from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, falsely claiming that it was illicitly obtained.
The FBI later confirmed that Hunter was under investigation related to tax evasion and money laundering.
But even before the laptop evidence surfaced, the Left had tried to suppress evidence of corruption by using its first impeachment sham to deflect from the Democrat candidate onto then-President Donald Trump.
As Greene pointed out, the same “quid pro quo” allegations that House Democrats used to form the basis of Trump’s impeachment bore stunning parallels to what Biden himself had done, although to a much greater degree and with more concrete evidence of malfeasance than Trump’s phone call to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
“President Biden is even on tape admitting to a quid pro quo with the Ukrainian government threatening to withhold $1,000,000,000 in foreign aid if they did not do his bidding,” Greene said, referencing a panel discussion Biden participated in as part of the Council on Foreign Relations.
“President Biden residing in the White House is a threat to national security and he must be immediately impeached,” she added.
It remains highly unlikely that Democrats will take up the cause, even as they rewrite the rules of the US Constitution by waging the first post-presidential impeachment in a bid to block Trump from running again in 2024.
Nor would it be particularly desirable to remove Biden and hand the reins of power to the more radical Vice President Kamala Harris.
But the move does position the congressional newcomer as an inheritor of the MAGA mantle and an emerging leader for the opposition.
Democrats have already sought to smear Greene as a fringe conspiracy theorist for her alleged support of the QAnon movement.
