CRUZ: Hunter Biden Revelations Won’t Sway ‘a Single Voter’

'I think we should be unifying, we should be explaining, we should be lifting people up...'

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, argued this week that recent revelations about Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son’s foreign business dealings won’t sway “a single voter.”

Speaking after the final presidential debate between Biden and President Donald Trump, Cruz said Biden was right to dismiss reports about his son, Hunter, and the effect they could have on his presidential campaign.

“One of Biden’s best points was when he said, ‘All of these attacks back and forth about my family and his family, they don’t matter. What matters is your family,'” Cruz told Axios. “I don’t think it moves a single voter.”

Earlier this month, the New York Post reported on the contents of a laptop that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden. Emails obtained from the laptop revealed details about his foreign business dealings, some of which may have involved Joe Biden.

But these revelations are not resonating among voters, Cruz said.

Instead of focusing on “October surprises,” Trump should be “lifting people up.”

“I think we should be unifying, we should be explaining, we should be lifting people up,” he said. “I think it’s a turnout election. But my assessment of turnout is the Left is showing up no matter what. That those who hate Trump will crawl over broken glass to vote against him.”

Cruz is not the only one who has raised doubts about the Hunter Biden stories’ appeal.

One of Trump’s top advisers reportedly told Axios that he urged Trump to focus solely on the economy and stop talking about Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton’s emails, or the Russiagate hoax.

Trump, however, has made it clear that he wants the Hunter Biden stories investigated.

“We’ve got to get the attorney general to act. He’s got to act. And he’s got to act fast. He’s got to appoint somebody. This is major corruption, and this has to be known about before the election,” Trump said last week on Fox & Friends.
