WTF?: Kindergarteners Given Assignment on Masturbation

'Some children like to touch their own private body parts and some children don't... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) A Canadian elementary school sent kindergarten children home with an exploratory masturbation assignment, the Libs of TikTok reported.

The assignment was meant to instruct the children to sketch places in their home where they can masturbate without distraction. It was assigned to four-year-olds at a school in Alert Bay, British Columbia, in Canada.

“Some children like to touch their own private body parts and some children don’t,” they wrote.

“What places in your home are private?” they asked the students before providing space to list their favorite masturbation locations.

“Draw a picture of the private places where you can touch your penis or vulva if you want to,” they instructed.

In the final instruction, the children were encouraged to explore their family rules on masturbation.

“All families have different rules about masturbation,” they continued. “Talk to your trusted grown-ups about your family rules.”

There has been much push back from parents and families against the assignment. But the school declined to comment until administrators had looked into the matter.

“The incident is under investigation” the school’s administrators wrote when asked to comment.

The assignment was pulled from a book written for young schoolchildren called “Body Smart: Right from the Start,” by Kerri Isham.

Her book is listed as a book appropriate for ages 3 through 7 despite the sexual content.

The book, which promotes masturbation, claims to “keep kids safe from sexual abuse” by covering “a wide range of topics including boundaries, bodies, public/private, touch, secrets, perseverance, trusted adults, body signals, and many more.”

The reporting parent also confirmed that the school was looking into the incident, and that administrators did not realize that the teacher had created the assignment.
