WATCHDOG: Records Show CRT a Top Priority at Air Force Academy

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) According to records released Friday from the Department of Defense, the U.S. Air Force Academy has made, and will continue to make, race- and gender-sensitivity training a top priority, the Judicial Watch reported.

The Judicial Watch received a 167-page document containing details of the woke training.

According to the document, the Academy considers “Behavioral Science 362, ‘Class, Race, Gender, and Sexuality’” to be a core class, required for all students.

The course appears to cover much of the same material that would be covered by a Critical Race Theory curriculum.

Superintendent Lt. General Jay Silveria definitively wrote in an introduction to the Sept. 21, 2020, “U.S. Air Force Academy Internal Racial Disparity Review,” that racism is one of America’s foremost problems.

“Systemic racism exists in our society,” he said. “Identity groups, whether based on race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability, have all experienced less-than-equal treatment in our nation, both historically and persisting in the present day.”

Silveria cited “ongoing events across our nation and around the world” as reminders for the Air Force’s future officer core that “racism and social injustice continue to afflict our society.”

According to the superintendent, even the Air Force is “not immune to these issues.”

Racism and sexism, he suggested, can be seen “across our installation, and throughout the Cadet Wing.”

To think otherwise, he noted, would be “naive.”

In order to address the internal racism and sexism, Silveria announced at the time the launching of a “Critical Conversations Working Group (CCWG), led by the Center forCharacter Development (CCLD), to facilitate recurring USAFA-wide critical conversations forcadets and permanent party.”

He also announced that he would assign to his “Director of Equal Opportunity” the task of internally assessing the Air Force in search of biases—specifically racial biases—within the organization’s policies.
