Trump Establishes Office of the Former President to Keep Political Options Open

'President Trump will always and forever be a champion for the American People...'

Former President Donald Trump established an official post-presidency office on Monday, which will help him keep his political options open in the days ahead.

The Office of the Former President will manage Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances and other official activities, according to a press release.

It will also “carry on the agenda of the Trump Administration through advocacy, organizing, and public activism,” the statement said.

“President Trump will always and forever be a champion for the American People,” the release stated.

The title of the office has led some to believe Trump may not run for president again in 2024, which is something he was rumored to have been considering before the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

He has not weighed in on whether he will run again, though he did assure the American public that he will be back in some capacity before long.

“We’ll do something, but not just yet,” Trump told the Washington Examiner during his first interview after leaving the White House.

A recent report said Trump is considering launching his own political party, which would be known as the Patriot Party.

He is also eyeing supporting primary challenges against Republican officials who he believes wronged him during the 2020 presidential election, including Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and House Republican Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., who was one of 10 House Republicans to vote to impeach him earlier this month.

“All of them are vulnerable. Some things stick in politics and I think this outrageous betrayal will,” Chris Ekstrom, the chair of the Courageous Conservatives political action committee, told Politico. “Examples will be made.”
