The Original ‘Brandon’ Speaks Out, Denounces Cancel Culture

'I'm also no longer going to be silent about the situation I find myself in, and why millions of Americans are chanting my name... '

Saying that he’s no longer afraid of being canceled, race car driver Brandon Brown wrote in an op-ed at Newsweek that he’s not going to be silent about why people are chanting “Let’s go Brandon!

Brown 28, recently won at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama, and during the interview, the crowd could be heard chanting “F— Joe Biden.”

In an effort to disguise the chant, the interviewer said that crowd was chanting “Let’s go Brandon,” thus a legend was born.

Brown said it’s no fun buying $4 gas, especially as he buys more gas than most people,

He also noted in the op-ed that he hears the chants for what they really are—even if Washington doesn’t hear.

“I have no interest in leading some political fight. I race cars,” wrote Brown.  “I am not going to endorse anyone, and I am certainly not going to tell anyone how to vote.

“But I’m also no longer going to be silent about the situation I find myself in, and why millions of Americans are chanting my name,” he added. “I hear them, even if Washington does not.”

Predictably, mainstream media outlets have the story wrong, trying to give the impression that Brown is annoyed by the attention and just wants to be left alone.

“Brandon Just Wants to Drive His Racecar,” headlined the New York Times about the op-ed.

“NASCAR driver Brandon Brown of ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ fame says he doesn’t want to lead a ‘political fight’” reported the Week via Yahoo.com.

But that’s not the whole story Brown has to tell.

“Ninety-nine percent of my time this upcoming NASCAR season will be spent trying to take the next lap a little faster,” said Brown in Newsweek. “But, when I have the opportunity and the time, I am not going to hesitate to speak about issues I am passionate about, or the problems we face together as Americans.”

He concluded: “Let’s go America.”
