Racist NYTimes Spiked Sen. Tim Scott’s Op-Ed after Vetting w/ Schumer

'There is something national media wants to frame any conservatives, particularly black conservatives, as being disingenuous or insincere or a tool for the conservatives... '

(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) A former New York Times editor has revealed the Gray Lady’s habit of allowing the most partisan Democrat leaders in Congress to dictate its editorial policy.

During a podcast discussion, Bari Weiss, former NYT op-ed staff editor and current proprietor of a popular anti-woke substack called “Common Sense,” told Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., who is black, that America’s alleged Newspaper of Record spiked an op-ed on police reform Scott wrote after running it by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

Weiss, who resigned her position at the paper after facing constant abuse from its leftist staff, gave her audience a window into the NYT’s inner life as she described to Scott the way a “more senior colleague” attempted to convince “a younger colleague” to check with Sen. Schumer before running Scott’s op-ed.

“There was a discussion about the piece and whether or not we should run it,” Weiss told Scott. “And one colleague, a more senior colleague, said to a more junior colleague who was pushing for the piece, ‘Do you think the Republicans really care about minority rights?'”

When the younger colleague suggested that Republicans like Scott might actually care about minority rights, the older colleague then suggested the paper should refer to partisan Democrats.

“Here’s the pretty shocking part,” Weiss continued. “The more senior colleague said, ‘Let’s check with Senator Schumer before we run it.'”

The news of the Times‘ collusion with powerful Democrats can come as no surprise to anyone familiar with the corporate media — it certainly didn’t surprise Sen. Scott.

“I am not surprised to hear that,” he responded. “There is something national media wants to frame any conservatives, particularly black conservatives, as being disingenuous or insincere or a tool for the conservatives.”
