Power-Drunk Disinfo Czar Wants to Control People’s Tweets

'The very idea of a ministry of truth should be revolting to all Americans who hold our Bill of Rights in high regard... '

(Pamela Cosel, Headline USA) Joe Biden’s new disinformation czar, Nina Jankowicz, wallowing in the authoritarian power that the role has given her, has proclaimed that she wants “verified” people to edit the Twitter posts of other people.

As part of a Zoom call with fellow leftists, Jankowicz explained how she wants Twitter to operate similar to Wikipedia, which allows anyone to edit and add information about a topic – but only if they have been verified, as she has been, reported Summit News.

“I am eligible for it because I am verified,” she explained about her sainted status on Wiki and how, presumably, it would translate to other social media under her directives.

“But there are a lot of people who shouldn’t be verified, who aren’t legit, in my opinion,” Jankowicz qualified.

“I mean, they’re real people but they’re not trustworthy.”

You know, trustworthy – someone like her, who would promote the thoroughly debunked narrative that Hunter Biden’s laptop was disinformation from a Russian intelligence operation.

In Jankowicz’s Twitter-verse, the Biden administration and his alt-left, woke cronies could “verify” people to edit tweets, with or without a tweeter’s permission or even knowledge, adding proper context and additional information.

“Just as an easy example, not from any political standpoint, if President Trump were still on Twitter and tweeted a claim about voter fraud, someone could add context,” Jankowicz gleamed.

That context, under Jankowicz’s edicts, would almost certainly swing hard Left, because “liberal voices are being silenced,” she said, according to Breitbart.

In Jankowicz’s opinion, somebody needs to protect democracy by peddling radical, leftist ideologies and censoring or suppressing any voices to the contrary, especially pro-liberty, conservative voices.

“There’s already this idea, this allegation that there is anti-conservative bias on the platforms, even though there has been study after study proving, in fact, that often it’s liberal voices that are being silenced, particularly minority voices on social media,” Jankowicz proclaimed.

“How did Homeland Security find one of the top 10 most ridiculous people in the country to run their new Ministry of Truth?” asked journalist Glenn Greenwald. “Was this some sort of trolling exercise?”

Greenwald isn’t the only one asking similar questions and raising concerns about the Biden administration’s Ministry of Truth.

House Republicans sent a letter to Jankowicz demanding that she turn over records with details about the mission of her newly created, officially-dubbed Disinformation Governance Board, the New York Post reported.

At issue is determining if Jankowicz is facilitating any “coordination” between Twitter and Facebook, or any other social media company.

Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, said that Biden’s Orwellian creation “gives rise to considerable concerns about its effect on American’s fundamental civil liberties.”

“The ability of Americans to engage in robust debate and conversation is the foundation of American politics, and there is no place for a de facto ministry of truth in our government,” the legislators wrote.

“The very idea of a ministry of truth should be revolting to all Americans who hold our Bill of Rights in high regard.”

The Department of Homeland Security fact sheet from the working group that created the disinformation board, says it was needed in order to safeguard the “U.S. against threats to its security, including threats exacerbated by disinformation.”

At question, however, is the legality of creating such a behemoth, which may require a vote in Congress, according to a letter Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., sent to Homeland Security boss Alejandro Mayorkas, reported the Post.

The Ministry of Truth, Hagerty argued, shouldn’t have been created because Congress must authorize executive branch expenditures and that its creation also may be subject to the Congressional Review Act.

One would suspect that Jankowicz could probably add some additional context to that assessment.
