Lawmakers Stunned as 15 Terrorists Cross US/Mexican Border

'Our national security is greatly compromised, with an open border and simply the unwillingness of the Biden administration to do anything about it... '

(Chris Parker, Headline USA) Congressional representatives are turning their attention back to the border after the apprehension of 15 terrorists, reported Just The News.

All 15 of the illegal migrants, each of whom has suspected ties to terrorist groups, were caught in a single month.

The number of suspected terrorists with ties to jihadist groups has been growing since Biden took office. Many experts believe that it’s essentially inviting terrorist groups to infiltrate and attack the US.

Lawmakers are now especially concerned over the possible number of terrorists who successfully cross the border without apprehension. Those concerns come at a time when border patrol agents are increasingly overwhelmed by the flood of illegal immigrants at the border.

The recent surge has forced border patrol agents to reinstate a “catch-and-release” policy. Experts warn that such policies only encourage more illegal migrations.

Rep. Brian Babin, R-Texas, blasted the current administration over the issue.

“Our national security is greatly compromised, with an open border and simply the unwillingness of the Biden administration to do anything about it, other than just continue to incentivize more and more of it,” Babin said.

Last year, Rodney Scott, then head of the Border Patrol, warned that known and suspected terrorists illegally crossed the US border “at a level we have never seen before.”

“Over and over again, I see other people talk about our mission, your mission, and the context of it being immigration or the current crisis today being an immigration crisis,” he said.

“I firmly believe that it is a national security crisis. Immigration is just a subcomponent of it, and right now, it’s just a cover for massive amounts of smuggling going across the southwest border.”

More agents are also being ordered to transport and care for illegal migrants, leaving fewer to guard the border. Smugglers and traffickers have taken advantage of this by using decoys to distract border patrol agents and cross the border unnoticed.
