Holder Threatens ‘High Level Prosecutions’ of Trump’s Inner Circle

'I’m an institutionalist... '

(Pamela Cosel, Headline USA) Eric Holder is no longer in the position of attorney general, but that’s not stopping him from trying to influence what occurs in the investigations about the protests in Washington D.C. on Jan. 6, 2021.

Holder said that former President Donald Trump should be held “accountable” for whatever role he played in those protests, a reversal of a previous comment he made when he thought indicting Trump would be “too divisive.”

“There’s going to be sufficient factual information and I think that there’s going to be sufficient proof of intent,” Holder told CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

“And then the question becomes, what’s the impact of such an indictment?” Holder said.

“I’m an institutionalist. My initial thought was not to indict the former president out of concern of what, how, divisive it would be. But given what we have learned, I think that he needs to be held accountable.”

Holder was the AG under former President Barack Obama.

Trump has denied numerous times being responsible for having a role in the J6 riots at the U.S. Capitol.

Holder’s reversal about whether or not to indict Trump is another case of the partisan former AG flip-flopping. Holder earlier this week changed his position about gerrymandering.

Holder resigned in 2015 as AG after a “tumultuous term” under Obama. At the time, he said, “I will leave the Department of Justice, but … I will never leave the work.”

True to his word, Holder is still working as a partisan hack, seven years later, spewing disinformation about possible crimes that Trump committed, when Holder himself was held in contempt of Congress in 2012, for failing to provide key information about Operation Fast and Furious.

At the time, he was the only sitting Cabinet member to be charged with such a crime.
