Gaslighting Dems Tout Breyer’s ‘Moderate’ and ‘Conservative’ Philosophies

'He is in an era of surging ideological attitudes on the Court and a sharply divided Court, left and right, Stephen Breyer's always tried to strike a more moderate tone... '

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USACorporate media outlets, including ABC and MSNBC, have launched a gaslighting and propaganda campaign to convince the American people that left-wing Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is “conservative or moderate,” NewsBusters reported.

“One thing that occurs to me is that he was rather conservative or moderate, if you will, or more nuanced than many progressives may have liked on big economic issues when they hit the Court,” MSNBC Anchor Andrea Mitchell said.

ABC Anchor Kyra Phillips called Breyer the “court’s most famous pragmatist”—a lie that no one can believe, because those who follow the Supreme Court know that Chief Justice John Roberts holds the tie-breaking vote on contentious issues.

Phillips then introduced ABC’s Senior National Correspondent Terry Moran, who followed the talking points and called Breyer a “pragmatic liberal” with a “moderate tone.”

“He is in an era of surging ideological attitudes on the Court and a sharply divided Court, left and right, Stephen Breyer’s always tried to strike a more moderate tone,” Moran said. “He, in both in oral arguments and in his opinions mostly he tried to bridge the gap there.”

The campaign hopes to reframe Breyer’s anti-Constitutional judicial philosophy as mainstream.

Moran revealed the purpose when he said that Breyer’s retirement is “a big opportunity for President Biden to restore some, perhaps, stronger liberal voice on the Court.”

The corporate media wants to make Biden’s upcoming nominee, who will likely be a far-left extremist, appear only left-of-center in comparison to Breyer’s so-called “moderate” position.

MSNBC Analyst Barbara McQuade admitted that Breyer “was a reliable liberal when it came to” abortion, election integrity, homosexual marriage, transgenderism, and other far-left social causes, but she echoed the talking point that he was a “pragmatist” on other issues.

Breyer’s retirement and replacement will solidify the 6-3 Republican- versus Democrat-appointed split on the Supreme Court.

Democrats, however, still feel that former President Donald Trump stacked the court with conseravtives, and so the institution must be destroyed.

“But make no mistake: Justice Breyer’s retirement announcement today solves nothing,” Sarah Lipton-Lubet, director of the progressive group Take Back the Court, told The Hill.

“The chance to keep a hyper-conservative stolen court at 6-3 is not a win.”
